WHAT'S NEW
DEC 2024 A study from UC San Diego's Comparative Cognition Lab..... After studying data from soundboards where dogs "talk" using button. They found they were capable of making 2 word button combinations. They found using these buttons the dogs where expressing their wants and needs not just imitating their owners. The dogs could press two buttons reflexing the requests, these where not just Random. They used words like outside, treat, play potty. They also found dogs used two buttons like food and water or outside and potty . These were used frequently and not by chance. The study is going to explore if dogs can use button to refer to past or future. This could change how we think about animal intelligence and communication...... Here is a link to the study.
That's such a great way forward imagine if a dog could say if they were in pain or where hurts or if they don't like a certain food . I just need them to design a soundboard in braille (A different smell or texture I have a blind dog) Who knows I'm sure in many years to come they will.
